Terminal Server

A terminal server in networking land is typically a serial server or console server. This allows an organization to connect network devices that use RS-232 serial ports to the LAN. Terminal servers are often used in Cisco labs, you can telnet or SSH to the terminal server and then access the console ports of all your network devices.
