RMON

RMON (Remote Network Monitoring) is a network monitoring protocol and an extension to SNMP (Simple Networking Management Protocol). RMON allows network engineers to monitor and analyze certain network issues from a central location. It does so by collecting information about packets sent, bytes sent, packets dropped, bandwidth, traffic and some other details.
