EUI-64

EUI-64 (Extended Unique Identifier) is an IPv6 capability that allows IPv6 devices to automatically configure their own unique IPv6 address. EUI-64 works by taking the 48 bit MAC address, separating it into two 24-bit chunks. It then adds 0xFFFE in between these chunks to create a unique 64 bit identifier.
